Grimscar RPG - Free Demo Version
A downloadable game
Grimscar RPG
Designed by Gunner Almr
Grimscar RPG is a solo player, roleplaying game set in a grim, dark, fantasy, medieval world. You will explore The Dark Weald, a massive unending, deathly forest that surrounds the town of Grimscar. There is no escape for its citizens through the dangerous forest. They are being choaked, starved and cursed with an unending winter. Grimscar is your home, you are Grimscarian and you must find answers. You will interact with the townsfolk, complete quests, develop your character and help your people somehow bring salvation to this forsaken place.
You will need these rules, a set of polyhedral dice (a six sided dice is referred to as a d6 and the other dice follow suit), a pencil, eraser and a printout of the character sheet and maps provided.
This is a free demo version and features all the rules and the first tier of the forest to explore, as well as a limited number of Grimscar citizens to interact with. The full version of the game that naturally includes the whole forest and the complete citizen list, can be picked up either through the Kickstarter (look up Grimscar on Kickstarter) or if you picked this up after the campaign is over at our website, google Crow Heart Roleplay Resource website.
This is a free draft of the rules for testing, like an open beta. If you do find any errors, have comments and would like a proofreading credit, or simply to help out, please email your findings to crowheartroleplay@gmail.com.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a few things, perhaps phrasing and balance for example, which will need updating. These will be corrected in the final draft.

hello out there i believe i'm backer #313.. just wondering out loud how everything is going and also wondering if all these US tariffs are going to affect production.. i hope for the best. cheers-
Hi, It's not affecting us at all really as we're based in the UK and we print everything locally. So we're good to go! Good luck to those people who it is affecting though.

Hey Gunner! I have just downloaded and reading the demo. The setting is really evocative! Just a question. Is the major wound rule in Page 22 correct? It says that the winning attack roll causes a major wound to the loser and that a winning attack roll less than double the loser's attack roll causes a minor wound. Is it a typo? Do you cause a major wound when your attack roll is more than double your opponent's roll and a minor when your attack roll is less than double your opponent's?
Hi Nick, Yes! These sentances seem to have been confused. It should read this:
"If the winning Attack Roll is more than the loser’s attack roll after modifiers, then the loser receives a minor wound that round unless it’s double or higher than the loser's attack roll, in which case they receive a major wound."
Thank for pointing this out. If you spot anything else let me know here or at crowheartroleplay@gmail.com. I can add you to the credist as well if you like as a Playtester. Just let me know.

Also I'm posting a new updated version today.
That's great! I will download the updated version. I am reading the rules and I am planning on running a solo session this weekend. I will let you know if I spot anything else! Grimscar's setting is really dark and evocative. I can see the love and passion that was put into it! Keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words. I look forward to hearing how it went. If you ike you can email me here with the feedback (that would be very usueful) crowheartroleplay@gmail.com Cheers!
Question. If a creature has two Combat Dice, I assume you roll them both and take the total as their attack roll? Similar to if you have two Reserve Dice you have to combine them? Thanks!
Yes, that's right. :-)
Really looking forward to playing this! Hopefully this weekend! Thanks so much for releasing a free demo versino!
No problem Gwydione. Looking forward to seeing you play.
